Male Hairline Transplant Case | Forehead About 4 to 8 Months After Surgery
A man in his 30s came to Dr. Wen-Yi Wu for a hair transplant assessment because his frontal hairline and both temples were receding. He hoped to improve the outline of his forehead. About 4 months and about 8 months after surgery the forehead was photographed with the head tilted down; use the slider below to compare the two points.
This case uses a head-down forehead view to show the hairline and both temples. The actual technique, treatment area and graft allocation still need to be assessed by the doctor in person, based on the extent of hair loss, hair calibre, donor supply and the risk of future hair loss.
Forehead at About 4 and 8 Months
These images were taken about 4 months and about 8 months after surgery; they are not a before-and-after comparison. The hair was short and the head tilted down both times, but at about 8 months the sides were cut shorter and the fringe falls forward over the hairline. The photos were taken by the patient, and lighting and camera distance also differ, which affects how visible the hairline and scalp are. The eyes have been masked to protect the patient's privacy.
Drag to compare
This is a photo record of a single case and does not mean everyone will achieve the same result. Transplanted hair usually grows in gradually over several months to more than a year; about 8 months is still within the observation period, and recovery speed varies. Hairstyle, head angle, camera distance and lighting were not the same at the two points, so these photos should not be read as a direct density comparison.
What Should You Watch for When Photographing Your Own Progress?
Fringe length, the cut at the sides and lighting can all change how a hairline looks. When tracking progress, try to push the hair back and keep the angle, lighting and distance consistent so changes are easier to see. Actual growth, whether native hair is still thinning and any further planning still need to be assessed by the doctor at follow-up visits.
Want to know how your own hairline could be planned?
Results vary between individuals and depend on native hair density, hair calibre, donor supply and aftercare. Graft counts reflect each patient's own hair loss at the time and are not a fixed recommendation; your plan requires an in-person assessment by the doctor.
